Overview
The Colca Valley is an amazingly beautiful place!
The most attractive highlights of this trip are seeing the majestic Condor, the gigantic Andean terraces, Arequipa’s volcanoes, and the deep canyon (with a depth of 3140 m).
- Your adventure begins when we pick you up from your hotel. We begin our journey towards Chivay, a little town located in the Colca Valley. On the way, we will stop at the Volcanoes Viewpoint, where you can see the beautiful Vicunas as well as all three of Arequipa’s magnificent volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu.
During the whole way, you will see the outstanding view of Peruvian Altiplano, many alpacas, and guanacos. - We will have lunch first when we get to Chivay.
Then, you can accommodate in the chosen hotel and then you can spend some time exploring the local market. Following that, we will get you to the Hot Springs. Here you can enjoy the warm natural water, that reaches 35°C.
After that, you will come back to your hotel to have dinner and rest. - On the second day of our trip, you will have an early breakfast before going to the famous viewpoint “Cruz del Condor”. There you will have plenty of time to spend watching magnificent views of the deep canyon and observing (if weather permits) the beautiful flight of Condor in its native habitat.
- Our guide will take you on a brief walk near the Canyon once you finished observing Condors (approx. 1 hour). There will be a stop at the “Choquetico” lookout point, which features hanging graves. Then it’s on to Maca, a little Andean settlement, and Yanque, a village with the valley’s most magnificent church. Before heading back to Arequipa, we’ll stop for lunch in Chivay.
We will transfer you to your hotel when you arrive to Arequipa.
